Porcelain slabs are made from a dense blend of clay and natural minerals, compacted and fired at extremely high temperatures. That process is what gives porcelain its scratch resistance, its resistance to fading in direct sun, and a surface so nonporous it never needs sealing, which makes it one of the most versatile materials we carry for kitchens, showers, and outdoor spaces alike.

It is often mistaken for ceramic tile, but the two are built very differently. Ceramic tile is fired at a lower temperature and made in much thinner pieces, which is why it shows grout lines and is more prone to chipping. Porcelain slabs are cut in large, full height pieces, giving you the seamless look of natural stone with none of the upkeep.
